Ovo je direktni nasljednik legendarne ES-serije. Ustvari, snaga ES-serije-samo udvostrucena. Sa svojih 2.670 tonova, 124-glasnom polifonijom, enormnim ROM-om (355 MB!!), i RAM-om koji je je prosiriv sve do 1 GB (kao Tyros 2), MOTIF XS7 predstavlja ultimativni workstation. Svaki ton se moze sastojati od 8 razlicitih tonskih elemenata (poput DX-serije). Od arpeggia nevjerovatne kompleksnosti, elektronskih ''ostrih'' lead-ova, preko vrhunskih drum-set-ova do tonova klavira i gitara za koje su komentari jednostavno suvisni-ova klavijatura je jos jedan dokaz iskrenog truda koji Yamahini inzenjeri ulazu u svoje instrumente.
